dc.description.abstract | It was all joy and celebrations at the University when the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board made the long awaited announcement that MMUST was now accredited to start the of School of Medicine and offer medical courses. This comes after the Board visited the University on Tuesday, 18th September 2018 and inspected its physical facilities, human resource, curriculum, Strategic and Business Plans among others Mr. Daniel Yumbya, the Chief Executive Officer of the Board, said MMUST had met all the requirements required by the Board and was given the green light to admit students. According to the Chairperson of the Training, Assessment and Registration Committee (TARC), Dr, Elly Nyaim Opot, who was also representing the Chairman of the Board, Prof. George Magoha, MMUST had undergone a series of inspections to ensure that it had the requisite infrastructure for the establishment of the School of Medicine. The Vice Chancellor, Prof.
Fredrick Otieno, was all excited and called on all stakeholders to join MMUST in building the first School of Medicine in the western region.
The Board gave MMUST the go ahead to admit the first twenty (20) students to the School of Medicine. Consequently, the University is expecting to admit ten (10) students as from Monday, 24th September 2018 when it will be receiving its fresh students. | en_US |
