dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the effect of recruitment practices of adjunct lecturers on employee performance among universities in Kakamega County, Kenya. The study adopted descriptive survey research design to collect data from 60adjunct lecturers from four universities within Kakamega County. The study used structured questionnaires to gather information from the respondents. The sampling technique used was stratified sampling and simple random sampling. Descriptive and inferential statistics was analyzed using spss version 20 and results were presented in tables and figures. From the results there is evidence that recruitment practices was found to be negatively correlated to employee performance (-0.376* p value <0.05).Recruitment practices account for 14.1% of the total variance in employee performance of adjunct lecturers in universities. Conclusions and recommendations are made based on the results of findings of the study to guide Universities in improving adjunct lecturer’s performance.en_US
